Member of the Board of Directors of Atom Hoteles Socimi S.A.

He sets out the vision and strategy of the company, as well as defining the investment strategy and its proper implementation, while also ensuring that the day-to-day operations are running smoothly.

He began his professional career in the family business environment of the tourism sector, which allowed him to know the hotel, leisure and catering sector at all levels. In his more than 25 years of professional experience, he has worked in different areas of the business and through every cycle of a project: from expansion to operation.

He studied Tourism and graduated in Executive Business Management from IESE (University of Navarra−Harvard University), as well as in Theme Parks Management from Cornell University-New York.


Chief Legal Officer

Member of the Board of Directors of Atom Hoteles Socimi S.A.

Esther Colom is the Head of Legal Advice and the Compliance Officer at GMA HCI. She coordinates both Asset Investment Operations and the day-to-day at the company, detecting and minimising potential risks with legal repercussions. Ensures regulatory compliance and good corporate governance.

She has more than 15 years of experience as a real estate attorney, having worked for more than six years as a Senior Legal Counsel at an IBEX-35 company Metrovacesa, S.A. (now called Merlin Properties Socimi, S.A.) and being involved, inter alia, in its financial restructuring and myriads of asset investment/divestment operations at the national & international level.

Prior to this, she worked at Altamira Santander Real Estate, S.A. playing a key part in the purchase processes of large real estate portfolios.

She has a PhD in Public & EU Law from the San Pablo CEU University. Esther is a member of WIRES association (Women in Real Estate) and participates as a speaker at panel discussions & presentations in the hotel industry.


Internal Auditor (Chartered Accountant)

He is in charge of the internal audit at GMA HCI, the exclusive asset management company of Atom Hoteles Socimi S.A.

He developed his professional career as a consultant and auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), where he led the Hospitality & Tourism Consulting practice in the services sector. Among his clients were the main tourist groups in the country, both hoteliers, as well as the distribution and transport of passengers.

He graduated with an undergraduate degree in Economics and Business Administration. Subsequently he did a custom course at the London School of Economics, an M.B.A from the Strathclyde Business School, a PhD in Business Economics from the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, where he has been a professor for more than 10 years. Most recently, he has done an Executive Development Program from ESADE Business School.


Property Manager & CapEx

He is in charge of the organisational, property, asset, commercial, and marketing management of the portfolio, as well as the capex plans of the portfolio assets and carrying out feasibility studies and real estate appraisals. Moreover, he handles the procedures for technical files and duly filing them with the corresponding departments and official organisations, coordinates the development of projects, budgets and processes of legal engineering.

He has previously worked as a Site Facility Manager at Neinver, Quality Manager at Unibail-Rodamco, and an Asset Manager at Prosegur.

He graduated from the European University of Madrid with an undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveyor & Building Engineering, and a master’s degree in Property & Facility Management. Most recently, he graduated with a master’s degree in Management of Real Estate Companies, RICS from the IE School of Architecture.


Financial Controller

Javier is the Financial Controller at GMA HCI and the Compliance Officer at Atom Hoteles Socimi, S.A. He is responsible for preparing financial reports for the company, as well as managing the day-to-day administrative and accounting tasks.

His professional career has been carried out at Ernst & Young, working on projects dedicated to Real Estate, Retail and Logistics for 3 years, where he was responsible for the consolidated financial reports and the liaison for official public bodies and auditors of the company. In addition, he has worked on process optimisation projects for various companies and designed cost accounting systems. He is an expert in ERPs, namely, Navision and SAP.

He graduated with a double degree in Business Administration & Management with Law from the Carlos III University of Madrid. In addition, he holds a postgraduate degree in Tax Consultancy from the Centre for Financial Studies (CEF).


Senior Finance & Accounting

David ensures that all the financial information is maintained up-to-date for the preparation of the company’s annual financial statements, as well as the daily administrative and reporting tasks.

His professional career has been carried out in companies such as Ernst & Young, performing outsourcing tasks, such as accounting, reporting, compliance and taxes. In addition, he is an advanced user of Navision ERP and has performed duties related to Immediate Supply of VAT Information (SII).

He has an undergraduate degree in Business Administration and Management from the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid.


Executive Assistant at GMA HCI

Carmen is responsible for the day-to-day management of the office, suppliers, purchases, office supplies and meetings among others. She collaborates in the optimisation of team resources, and arranges all business trips, meetings and presentations.

Her professional career started as a receptionist and customer service at hotels and later she joined an advertising agency where she was an event executive for companies such as Mahou.

She graduated with an undergraduate degree in Tourism and has a master’s degree in Integral Events Organisation.
